Dr. Sara LePine is a member of Society for Theriogenology and is also certified by Minitube USA (formerly MOFA) for Transcervcal Insemination and Breeding Management. She is a pivotal part of our reproductive services program that allows us to provide urgent reproductive services 7 days a week. She has a strong interest in theriogenology and has attended numerous continuing education opportunities to build her knowledge even further.
Born and raised in upstate New York, Dr. Sara Lepine grew up cleaning horse stalls for her riding lessons when she was 8 years old. As she grew older, she knew that she wanted a job that focused on animal care and the science of medicine. She continued to work at horse farms throughout high school and earned her undergraduate degree from SUNY Morrisville. A graduate of Cornell University, Dr. Lepine earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree while caring for Cornell’s mules and hinnies that were used for genetic and immunological research.
As a veterinarian, Dr. Lepine loves learning something new every day and strives to provide the best medicine for her patients. In the process of helping her patients and clients, she feels they help her grow as a doctor. She gravitates towards feline medicine, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Lepine is excited to expand her skills in reproductive medicine.
Dr. Lepine preformed on the aerial silks for the first time last summer, which is a big accomplishment since she is afraid of heights! She has done performance belly dance and continues to learn new tricks on the aerial silks. She spends her free time trying new food, reading, gardening, going out dancing, and enjoys the performing arts.
She lives with her partner Derrick and has a household full of animals. They have an American Paint horse named Ellie, a cat named
Reeses Pieces, a Pit Bull named Hazelnut, a German Shepherd named Sarge, and two chinchillas named Gordo and Pequeno.
