1/14/2026: Contracts
Jeremy Cohen The Boston Dog Lawyer

Jeremy Cohen is an attorney and founder of The Boston Dog Lawyer, a firm representing a variety of animal cases in New England.  He will discuss vital aspects of breeding contracts including spay/neuter and guardianship and will give breeders of all experience levels a better understanding of how to protect their animals and breeding programs. 


1/21/2026: Managing Inflammation around Pregnancy
Erin Runcan, DVM, DACT The Ohio State University 

Dr. Runcan is a board-certified Theriogenologist in the College of Veterinary Medicine at OSU.  She will be discussing the use of anti-inflammatories and antibiotics in bitches around the breeding period to optimize reproductive performance.


1/28/2026: Ophthalmology Pre-breeding
Alison Clode, DVM DACVO Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Dr. Clode is a board-certified veterinary Ophthalmologist and will be discussing breed-specific ocular conditions.  Her discussion will touch on certain conditions that should be avoided in the breeding population and how to select breeding animals for optimal health. 


02/04/2026: Cardiology Pre-breeding
Sage Hubert, DVM, DACVIM Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Dr. Hubert is a board-certified veterinary Cardiologist.  She will be discussing cardiac diseases affecting specific breeds and the specific screening tools to help diagnose those diseases.  Her talk will also focus on the myriad of diagnostic tests available to screen breeding animals and how to prioritize test results when deciding which animals to keep in the breeding population.


02/11/2026: Genetic Screening in Breeding Programs
Heather Huson, LVT, PhD Cornell University

Dr. Huson is a professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University.  Her research interests focus on genetic improvement of animal health and performance.  She will be discussing the use of genetic testing in breeding programs.  Genetic testing can be intimidating because of the abundance of available tests and the complex modes of inheritance.  Dr. Huson will help breeders better understand how to cut through the minutiae and select relevant tests for their breeds.


02/18/2026: Supporting Stud Fertility 
Alyssa Shelby, DVM DACT Sacramento, California

Dr. Shelby is a board-certified Theriogenologist.  She will be discussing practical steps that breeders can take to help support fertility in male dogs.  Dr. Shelby will cover topics including but not limited to diet, supplements, exercise and medications that can help improve male fertility.

  • Attendance & Recordings: You do not need to attend the live session; a recording will be provided for later viewing.

  • Recording Access & Usage: All session recordings are for personal viewing only and will be available for 90 Days from the date of the last session. Sharing or distributing of the recordings is not allowed without our explicit written permission.
